These wins helped Ferrari build a reputation as a high-quality sportscar manufacturer. The company's first series-produced car was the 250 GT Coupé introduced in 1958.
Towards the end of the sixties Ferrari also produced two cars that were significantly different to their previous cars, The 1967 Dino 206 GT, was their first mass-produced mid-engine road car, and the 1968 365 GTB/4 (Daytona), which had streamlined styling that modernized Ferrari's design language. The Dino in particular was a new bold direction away from the company's conservative engineering approach of front engine V12 cars and paved the way for many more mid-engine cars such as the V8 Ferrari 308 in the seventies and the 12 Cylinder Berlinetta Boxer and Testarossa in the eighties and nineties.
