The Ford Motor Company was launched in 1903 with $28,000 in cash from twelve investors, most notably John and Horace Dodge (who would later found their own car company). During its early years, the company produced just a few cars a day at its factory. Within a decade the company led the world in the expansion and refinement of the assembly line concept.

During 1922 Henry Ford purchased the Lincoln Motor Company in order to compete with such brands as Cadillac and Packard for the luxury segment of the automobile market. In an attempt to contend with mid-priced car’s such as Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Buick, Ford created the Mercury in 1939 as a higher-priced companion car to Ford.

Executive stylist John Najjar, who was a fan of the World War II P-51 Mustang fighter plane, is credited by Ford with suggesting the name. Najjar co-designed the first prototype of the Ford Mustang known as the "Ford Mustang I" in 1961.The Mustang I made its formal debut at the United States Grand Prix in Watkins Glen, New York, in 1962, where test driver and Formula One race driver Dan Gurney lapped the track in a demonstration using the second "race" prototype.

EZ Electric Power Steering and Ford
EZ Power steering produces power steering for many classic Fords such as the F100 Pick up, the 1st Series of Thunderbirds and of course the early Mustangs. The Mustang Power Steering we produce is mostly used for cars that left the factory without power steering but also for owners of cars with the hydraulic power steering that find the steering to light and without any feel. Cars which are used for rallies usually remove the hydraulic cylinder under the front axle because it is prone to damage on rough roads.
